 PAYMENT CARD & SERVICES INFORMATION

Which UK online shops, retailers & services accept your credit, debit, charge or store cards?
Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo, Delta, JCB, Visa Electron, American Express, Diners, Maestro, Style, Laser, Time, Splash, Paypal, Eurocard
Do they offer free delivery, price matching, discounts or credit?
To find out simply select a category from the Shopping Menu above.

Why waste time trying to find which online stores accept your payment cards? UKOrbit's Shopping Directory gives details of which credit, debit, charge cards or store cards are accepted at each online merchant. We provide other useful information too - is delivery free, does the store offer price matching, discounts or credit?

Payment Cards

Now you can see at a glance whether your card is accepted before going through the sometimes lengthy process of making an online purchase. Where applicable, this information is given under the descriptive text for each store in our Directory. As well as the usual credit and debit cards you will also see indicators for other charge cards, including internet payment methods such as Paypal. The current list of card indicators is as follows:

Card indicated
Type
Notes
Visa & Mastercard Credit / Debit You will probably see this indicator for almost all merchants that take cards online. This represents ALL cards that bear the Visa or Mastercard logo, including debit cards such as Connect
Switch Debit Popular card issued by many UK banks
Maestro Debit International replacement for Switch card
Solo Debit Sister card to Switch but with more financial controls/restraints
Electron Debit Debit card with more financial controls/restraints
JCB Debit Japanese backed card
Laser Debit Irish debit card
Delta Debit Visa debit card
American Express Charge card American Express also issue a range of credit cards
Diners Charge card The first ever charge card
Style Storecard Common Storecard for many merchants
Time Storecard Common Storecard for many merchants
Splash Prepay Taken by several merchants ( you need to top it up)
Paypal Internet A common third party payment provider that takes credit and debit cards (currently Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Solo)
iCard Various This covers all other internet payment cards not covered above, including other third party payment providers similar to Paypal (eg. Bidpay)
Storecard Storecard Indicates that a store card exclusive to that particular merchant is available

Please Note: We have determined this information by visiting each site individually, but there may be some cases where it has not been clear from the information provided exactly which cards are accepted. However, every online store accepts at least the major credit cards. Therefore if no card is indicated, it means that the merchant does not take immediate online payment or is providing a free service.

Free Delivery, Discounts, Credit and Price Matching

You may see one or more of these indicators next to a merchant's name:

Free Delivery: This tells you that some kind of free delivery is offered - which may be conditional or unconditional. Examples of conditional free delivery are where you need to spend a minimum amount or order a minimum quantity. We do not include special offers such as "Free Delivery for a limited period".

Discount: As above, please be aware that discounts can be conditional or unconditional. You may need to spend a minimum amount or order a certain quantity to qualify. Special or time-limited offers are not included under this indicator.

Credit: Some form of credit is offered, which may be in the form of finance or the merchant's own store card or budget card. Stores offering finance through a third party are also included under this indicator.

Price Matching: This indicates that the merchant promises to match or beat the price of a product or service that you may find elsewhere.

We hope this information provides a useful guide when you are in a hurry or when you need to choose between several merchants offering similar services. Please let us know via our Contacts page if we have missed anything or if there is other information that we haven't provided which might be useful to you and other shoppers. We are always looking for suggestions on how to improve this Directory. Your input is most welcome.
